Things To Do

IMG_1525

Happy Thursday guys! I'm happy to share a special time of our daily lives, bedtime.

After drinking hot chocolate and brushing their teeth my girls head to bed. No, not their beds. Instead they tuck themselves-in for reading time in my bed. This is certainly their favorite parts of each day.
We read one or two books together (with lots of laughter in between) and when the book ends we use our imaginations to become our own storytellers. This helps their imagination expand while giving us the opportunity to have mommy-daughter time. This is such an important part of a child's life. Make this a habit :)

The girls are wearing Hatley pj's which are their current favorites. They came in sets (top and bottom) and you can find them here. The material is super comfortable for the hot summer days approaching as well as great for relaxing in the house.

I also wanted to share with you guys a few fun family screening and activities taking place at Brooklyn Children’s Museum this summer, courtesy of Amazon Studios. Here are the details on the events:
·         June 21st – Screening of Tumble Leaf, a show for preschool-aged children that follows Fig the Fox and his best friend Stick as they discover adventure, friendship and love around every bend.
·         July 19th – Screening of Creative Galaxy, a make-along, create-along, interactive art adventure series for preschoolers. Characters Arty and Epiphany travel around the galaxy to solve problems with art, inspiring creative thinking through crafts, music and dance.
·         August 9th – Annedroids screening. Aimed at children aged four through seven, Annedroids is a live-action adventure series about a young female genius, her human friends, android assistants and the amazing scientific discoveries they make while undertaking the biggest experiment of them all: growing up.

Immediately following each screening will be family-friendly arts and crafts activities that connect to the series’ educational content which emphasize lifelong learning through play. Families interested in attending will pay standard admission fees, but participating in Amazon Studios events on the above dates will be free of additional charges.

These events are a great way to keep children learning and engaged all summer long.
