Whiteface lodge in Lake Placid, NY

Last month I was searching online for a place to visit in Lake Placid, NY. I knew my girls would be off school for one week during Spring break and I wanted to take them to a resort for the week.

After chatting with a few friends who've visited the area we knew this was it! Even before knowing that Whiteface Lodge was Lake Placid's only Forbes 4 star resort. We booked a three day, two night stay in a two bedroom suite. It was pretty sweet!!

The drive wasn't too bad. It would've taken us 4 hours and 50 minutes from door to door non-stop. Nonetheless, we had to stop at a few rest stops and it took us a little longer.

We checked-in, showered and got ready for dinner in a restaurant located in the resort called KANU.

We got a few starters to begin along with drinks. I ordered the beet and Asgaard Farm Goat Cheese (Walnuts, Frisee and Red Wine Vinaigrette) salad. I'm a sucker for beet and goat cheese, this combination is perfection. Of course, I loved it! We then moved on to the entree. We weren't sure on what to order because everything sounded delicious. Our waitress recommended the Yankee Farmers Market Venison Stew. Saying that it was spectacular is an understatement!! The stew had porcini mushrooms, potato dumplings and american grana. Hands down one of the best things I've ever ate in my life.

The decor at KANU dinning room was so nice and had a very cabin feel. I loved visiting in the mornings when you see all natural light come in through the large windows.

For dinner I wore a Tobi dress and Christian Louboutin shoes. I carried all my essentials in my Dagne Dover cork bag.

After coming back to the room, we got comfortable and enjoyed a movie under the fireplace, this was one of my favorite features in the room.

The next morning we got up and the first thing the girls wanted to do after breakfast was jump in the pool. We were able to play a few games with other guests and the girls had a really great time. We enjoyed the extension of the pool which lead you to the outside pool and the other hot tub.

I didn't want to get out of the hot tub. It was super relaxing and felt like I was in a spa. & speaking of Spa, Whiteface Lodge has a Spa too! They offer everything you could possibly image and it's only a few steps from the pool, theater, fitness room and game room.

We spent the rest of the day goofing around the resort. Mingling with guests and eating a lot, haha.

One things we always look for in any resort we stay in the US is a pit to roast s'mores. This may sound super cheesy but, we were looking forward to this moment for awhile. Not only so we can roast and eat the s'mores but also because Moe comes up with the most awesome stories to tell by the fire.

After eating way too many s'mores, we walked towards the private lake that's behind the resort. We stood there for awhile while enjoying nature and the beautiful views.

This is where the self timer on my camera came in handy.

The next morning we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! It was so beautiful that I couldn't be mad it. I wish I would've brought appropriate clothes to enjoy the snow. From our room you were able to see a few people jumping inside the pool. It was the coolest thing ever. Unfortunately, we had a few things to do in NYC and had to return back home quite early that morning.

The views to and from The Whiteface Lodge were incredible! My family and I can't wait to go back.
