L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask Review

IMG_3319

I've had a clay mask obsession for as long as I've been into makeup/skincare. I always tend to go for the charcoal masks because they always seem to detoxify and brighten my skin. This always results in a fresh and more even complexion.

Today I'm going to be talking about L'Oreal Paris newly released skincare innovation, Pure-Clay Mask. Pure-Clay Mask is a line of three hybrid cleansers and treatments offering a different benefit in each mask. One detoxifies, another mattifies and the other exfoliates and refines skin texture.
L'Oreal Paris was nice enough to sent me the entire Pure- Clay Mask collection to review and let you guys know what I think about these new products. Continue reading to see my full review.

I'll start with the packaging. Each product comes in a 50ml/1.7 oz glass container and plastic pastel green color top. I was instantly drawn to the very simple packaging as the glass containers give it a very luxurious feel. This feeling always makes it more enjoyable to apply something on your face, right!? On the back of each container it gives you a brief description of how and when to use it. On the box (not shown) you'll find more information about the product.

Now lets' talk about the good stuff.

Each mask is made with three mineral Clays (Kaolinite, Montmorillonite and Ghassoul) and other ingredients sourced from different regions around the world. Each of the three clay masks offer unique benefits to your skin. All three mineral clays absorb impurities and oils. So if you have especially oily skin like myself, this stuff is made for you! & for those who are always asking about the smell and texture of things.. all 3 masks have a very fresh scent that enhances each of the ingredients. & as for the texture, they all have a heavy creamy consistency.

I'm going to start of with the Purify & Mattify Mask (I call it The Green Mask): This mask has the three pure clays along with Eucalyptus. This mask is made to draw out dirt, unclog pores and reduce excess shine. After using this mask I noticed clearer and softer skin....and on top of that it smells amazing!

Moving on to the Detox & Brighting Mask (Charcoal Mask):
Charcoal masks are one of my favorite types of masks (as I have mentioned numerous times on my snapchat) because it reduces dull skin and increases luminosity. I literally swear by it! If you must get any of these masks I highly recommend getting this one. This is definitely the reason I have even skin (excluding my under eye bags).

Last but not least is the Exfoliate & Refining Mask (Red Algae):
This mask is basically a scrub/mask that is formulated to exfoliate dead skin cells, smooth imperfections, and tighten pores.

If you have many skin problem areas like I do, it's best to customize  the application like I did in today's post. I applied each mask to different areas on my face to get the full benefits of each product.
You are supposed to apply an even layer of the mask to clean face and leave in for 10-15 minutes. & for best results use 3 times a week.

Overall I like everything about the masks. The scent, consistency and overall results.
If there was one thing I would like to change about the Pure-Clay Mask it would be the process of removing the mask. I had a little bit of a hard time removing the mask after 20 minutes (5 minutes more than directed).

Each mask is intended for all skin types and they retail for $12.99 each.

  1. I bought the red clay a few weeks ago.....used it 3 times and absolutely LOVE the results! My skin is soft, bright, and I don't have the disgusting oily shine on my forehead and around my nose anymore. Only complaint is the fragrance. I have very sensitive eyes and once the mask is on the fragrance irritates them immediately. I sit with my eyes closed until the 15 minutes is up. Unfortunate that fragrance has to be added to everything, especially skin care items, but at least it didn't irritate my skin which is normally what happens.

  3. Are these masks stay wet? Or will it dry and change color after 10 minutes just like Glamglow mud masks?
