How To Dress For Fall With Sophistication

In honor of tbt (throwback Thursday) I decided to bring back this look I posted back in April. Coat season is back and I though this was a perfect way to wear a coat while keeping things sophisticated.

Even though we saw some snow here in NYC today, Winter has not officially entered yet. Today I'm giving you some Fall beauty tricks and techniques to help you stay fresh and trendy through the day. 

I will start with trend #1 A Bold Lip.

A leopard dress is like a little black dress, we all need at least one in our closet.

Welcome November

As we prepare ourselves for the holiday season we have an urge to dressing holiday'ish, or maybe it's just me. Either way, this tweed jacket mixed with this mustard sweater by Eileen Fisher screams out Thanksgiving. I love this combination of colors and believe it's great for any occasion. By keeping the bottom part of the outfit downy, it allows you to stay classy and really standout without trying. Remember, too much of anything can be a bad thing. & yes, I am wearing silver and gold. How do you feel about mixing these two?

Cuando pensamos en el otoño por lo general pensamos en el color naranja, hojas en el suelo, labios de color burdeos oscuro y un suéter tejido grueso. Quería tomar esos datos para crear un atuendo inspirado en el otoño. Por supuesto, con la adición de unos pocos elementos de moda a la mezcla. Siempre he sido un fan de la mezcla de colores y texturas, pero hoy quise mezclar el oro y la plata. ¿Cómo te sientes sobre la mezcla de el oro y la plata?

A Night With A View

I discovered a new obsession, waistcoats! Despite me buying a couple through the years, I never payed too much attention as to how I feel when wearing .. and I feel really really good in them. Instant sophistication with a touch of coolness. I bought this one from Zara (i've added plenty more below). As time passes by I start appreciating and paying a little bit more attention to things and how they make me feel. I think this happens to all of us, correct?

Descubrí una nueva obsesión, chalecos! A pesar de comprarme un par a través de los años, nunca he prestado mucha atención en cuanto a cómo me siento cuando usarlos .. y me siento muy, muy bien en ellos. Sofisticación instantáneamente con un toque de frescura. A medida que pasa el tiempo empiezo a apreciar y prestar un poco más de atención a las cosas y la forma en que me hacen sentir. Creo que esto le sucede a todos nosotros, ¿verdad?

There are many perks in being involved with a different culture. Well, only if you're a foodie like me. If you merely knew the amount of time I spend eating bengali food, you would certainly think I'm nuts. Part of it is because I am hooked on cooking traditionally. In my mind I try to figure out the spices added in each dish to soon after recreate those dishes at home. Call me crazy but that's what a creative foodie does. Theres a bit of a thrill when trying a new Bengali dish. You know, almost that feeling when you sit on a roller coaster and are ready to take off, yea. that's the feeling. I don't want to say that Bengali food is my all time favorite type of food but, it's pretty close to it. Last weekend I met with uncle X who took my palates on a fun ride. 

Plaid and Studs

I'm pleased to say that this outfit was inspired by my honorary student, Zareena. After getting a sweet letter from the principal last week informing me about the astonishing grades and behavior of Zareena. They decided to nominate her as 'Student of the Month' and I couldn't be more proud. Today is thee official ceremony and she will be receiving her certificate/award. I promise you, I will be hanging that award up on my wall for sure! With that, I leave you with a trendy school girl #ootd. 

I've always been a fan of wearing a variety of prints and textures. Plaid is one of those awesome and timeless prints that I love. Today I decided to mix plaid with studs and a hint of alligator skin with this clutch/wallet. Siempre he sido un fan de usar una variedad de estampados y texturas. Tela escocesa es una de esas huellas impresionantes y atemporal. Hoy he decidido mezclar tela escocesa con tachuelas y piel de cocodrilo. Espero que todos ustedes tengan un gran día.

What To Do and Where To Go This Halloween

My god! October flew and Halloween is around the corner. I still haven't decided what I will be wearing nor what my kids will be dressed as. If you guys have any suggestions on what I or my girls should be this halloween please tweet me @nytrendymoms. Despite not having anything to wear, I do have many places to go with my children and friends. Below you will find a list of kid friendly events, haunted houses and trendy places for adults. Rebel In The Village

I've always been drawn to wearing black at night, as most of us are. There's a mysterious factor and inner rebel that needs to be unleashed at night, right? This is what I wore to dine with my hubby at Sotto 13 last week (read post here).
