Things To Do Before Summer Ends

There's only a few days left until Summer officially ends (September 23rd).

It's always bitter sweet when we reach this time of year. Letting go of the warmer days and welcoming cooler weather. Over the Summer my family visited so many cool places, I couldn't keep it all to myself. These are the best places to visit before Summer ends.

Starting with Mystic Aquarium ( 55 Coogan Blvd, Mystic, CT 06355).
This has got to be the most interactive aquarium I've ever visited. No wonder the place has such great reviews online.

From petting stingrays and sharks, to whale observing, to feeding birds and so much more.

Definitely worth the two hour drive from New York City and the $40+ for the value ticket.
Children under 2 years are free.

Here's a place we visited often this Summer, Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard. I can't get enough of this place. While the adults enjoy a great selection of ciders the kids can run around, play games and visit the animals. Most weekends they have fun festivals with live music.

You'll definitely want to checkout their schedule as they often times have great events.

We visited Muscoot Farm a few weeks ago and posted about it on my instagram and my dm's blew up with questions.

This farm is great if you like the outdoors and like to walk as it's all outdoors. They have horses, chickens, huge pigs, goats and so many more farm animals.

Benmarl Winery and Vineyard is my absolute favorite winery! I've lost track of how many times we've visited. The view is straight out of a movie, the staff is the sweetest and the drive-up is exactly what you need after a long week of work.

Benmarl also offers a bed & breakfast on the premises via airbnb which is fantastic for any special occasions. I've never stayed the night but it's on my bucket list of things to do before the year ends.

Aside from having a small bakery and offering brick oven pizza, they also offer private events.

My family is huge on festivals. Here are some fun ones happening soon!

Addams Festival happening in Westfield, NJ on October 26th.
This is the biggest event celebrating the Addams Family, one of my favorite families on television. & you know the new movie is coming out October 11th.

At this festival, people dress up as their favorite character. Enjoy food, a selection of beer and wine, live music and fun games; giant beer pong, inflatable axe throwing, mechanical jack-o'-lantern riding and so many more games. It's a family friendly event so be sure to bring the Wednesday, Pugsley and Uncle Fester in your life :)

Buy tickets here on October 3rd at 8pm.
p.s. I know this event is happening after Summer ends but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share :)

Adirondack Balloon Festival happening September 19th - September 22nd.

I love visiting the Bronx Zoo when it's nice out. You're able to take your time seeing all the animals and truly experience all that the zoo has to offer.

Who doesn't love Horseback Riding? This is something we don't mind doing in cooler weather as you really work up a sweat. Here are some great places to try.

& last but certainly not least is take the New York Ferry. The ride is only $2.75 (one way) and you get to enjoy the beautiful views this city has to offer for the same price as a subway ride. If you feel you have no where to go in the ferry, click here to see some events happening around the city.

I hope this post was helpful and gave you some ideas on what to do this weekend.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by!
