Our Holiday Cards are Here!

Our Holiday cards are ready to be mailed out this week and I'm so excited to be partnering with Minted for the third year in a row to share their amazing designs.

This year I chose a deign by Rebecca Durflinger. The pressed foil on each card is so beautiful, even better in person. I went with a cobblestone theme, the rose gold foil color and the New Year greeting. You can select from four different messages (Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Glory to God). If you have any special requests you can always email the Minted team for assistance. Their customer service is pretty amazing!

Not only am I sharing my cards but I'm also sharing their Black Friday deal! Now through Friday receive 20% off Holiday Cards, gifts and so much more.  Use code: BF2020 at checkout.

If you haven't gotten around making your cards, now is the time!

This year has definitely been one to never forget.. I think we can all use a little smile.

So send someone you love a card to remind them better days are ahead.

Shop Johnnybell

If you have been a long time reader you might know I had a very successful line of harem pants back in March of 2013. The reason why I had to close-up-shop was because the demand was high and the seamstress wasn't delivering the promised items on time. I made the hard decision to shut down and re-open when I was ready... and that day is today!

Here it is!!
A year long project that has finally come to life.
My own little place where I can share items inspired by my families mixed culture.
Not only am I bringing back my classic harem pants (a new and improve design) but I've also curated a line of statement bags and unique jewelry. The best part is that each item has been hand selected by me directly from overseas. Bringing a little piece of Bangladesh to you ( about us here ). The pants and future apparel pieces are made in Brooklyn, New York and all designed by me, Johnnybell.

Halloween Recap

I hope everyone had a safe Halloween yesterday!

Like many of you, I didn't take the kids trick-or-treating this year which is an annual tradition we look forward to. Instead we gathered the family and dressed up, ate great food, danced around and took tons of photos for memories. Here are a few.

October 25, 2020

Over the past few weeks I have been seeing new faces in my direct messages and notification center. Since I never officially introduced myself on social media, I wanted to do it here. This is a fun way to say hello to the new followers, share some facts about me and my family, as well as share a few updates on our lives.

Best Blue Light Blocking Glasses

I started wearing blue light blocking glasses a few months back after getting constant eye strain and headaches from using my phone/laptop for hours. Now I can't work without them.

I'm the type of person who loves quality over quantity because you end up spending less in the long-run when you make the right decisions. I'm speaking from experience after purchasing a knockoff pair from Amazon and not getting the results I wanted. I then decided to invest in a few reliable pairs that would give me good results. Here they are.

Thought You Should Know

Hey guys! Just wanted to hop on here to chat as we've all been dealing with this quarantine differently.

Today, I woke up feeling a bit different ( in a good way ). I'm not exactly sure why but I think it might have something to do with me FaceTiming my friend Maria over the weekend. We chatted for awhile. It felt like we were out on our typical girls night catching up on life. We spoke about our daily quarantine schedule, planning her wedding ( she's getting married in October ) and we got excited over the arrival of her wedding shoes. It was a nice change from my tedious past few weeks. So I feel refreshed in a way.

¡Hola chicos!

Happy Birthday Hazel

Yesterday I celebrated my daughter Hazel's 9th birthday. It wasn't her ideal celebration of a birthday party but I wanted it to be as special as possible. Jayleen (her older sister) baked her a funfetti explosion cake and we sang happy birthday to her. She wore her favorite party dress and posed for photos in our family room. We gave her a wrapped gift and watched her eyes light up as she opened the barbie dream house she had been wanting for months.

We Are All In This Together

As I hop out of my daily epsom salt + lavender bath,  I get an uncontrollable urge to write. That might be because I haven't done it in a while or maybe because I've been on social media way too much these past few days.

I know by now we have all seen what is going on in the world about COVID-19 and I can't help but feel overwhelmed with the outpour of information provided by everyone.

I admit to getting caught up with sharing memes on instagram, tweets and snaps. As much as I was doing all this to spread information to everyone I also feel like it's my responsibility as an influencer to help you stay calm during these stressful times.

This short post is to remind you to take deep breaths. Take a break to be home with your family. We need to be mindful of everyones health at this time. With that said,  you can still support your local restaurants/shops by ordering out. Here are some of my favorites.

they support refugees and asylum seekers )

During this break i'll be home as much as possible catching up on my favorite shows and reading The 7 1/2 Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. Stay safe guys and remember to wash your hands.

What you Should Know Before Your First Acupuncture

9 East 4th Street
New York, NY 10003

Over the weekend I was invited to an acupuncture clinic for the first time in my life! The place was called ORA, a new luxurious acupuncture clinic located in NOHO (second location coming soon to the UES).

For those of you who aren't familiar with acupuncture, it's basically a form of alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine in which needles are inserted into your body.

ORA is finally bringing traditional techniques of ancient Chinese medicine into our modern world. Their making it super convenient to walk into a calm and relaxing space, speak privately with an acupuncturist before deciding on which treatment is best for you.

They offer a luxurious experience of customizable acupuncture along with herbal teas & tonics.
Ora focuses on pain, sexual health, GI + digestion, immunity, emotion/mental health and optimization. Each treatment customize for each individual.

Aside from acupuncture, ORA also offers cupping (which I'm going to try next). Price ranges from $50-$130. The experience is worth every penny. Intro (65 minutes, $130), Essential (50 minutes, $120) and Express (30 minutes, $50).

THE GULLY | An Urban-Desi Restaurant

Back in 2013 my family visited Bangladesh for the very first time.
A 24+ hour journey to an unknown land where all I had seen prior to my visit were photos and videos online. Fast forwarding to 2020, and we've made two trips back to my husbands motherland.

If you've been following along via my social accounts then you know my family just came back from  Turkey and Bangladesh. While in Bangladesh we couldn't get enough of the delicious food. We tried it all! Everything from Fuchka, Chanachur, Jhalmuri, Singara, Jallaby and so much more.

Valentines Day with The House of Creed

Today I received the most thoughtful gift from one of my favorite perfume brands, The House of Creed & just in time for Valentines Day. They recently partnered with Compartes Chocolate to create three decadent chocolate bars all inspired by the Aventus Trilogy. The Dark chocolate & vanilla sea salt bar is inspired by Aventus. The White chocolate with peach, roses, & gold flakes bar is inspired by Aventus For Her (my favorite). The Milk chocolate with ginger & orange peel is inspired by Aventus Cologne.

Aventus celebrates strength, power, and success. Notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, pineapple, birch, ambergris and vanilla set this fruity/rich scent from the rest.

Aventus for Her is the irresistible feminine counterpart to the legend Aventus, inspired by strong women. A floral/fresh scent, Aventus For Her features notes of green apple, patchouli, rose, sandalwood and peach.

Aventus Cologne is the newest universal fragrance that perfectly compliments it's counterparts while providing an expressive and unconventional fresh olfactive experience. This woody/fresh scent includes notes such as ginger, mandarin, patchouli, sandalwood, birch and tonka bean.

This Valentines Day you'll receive a special box with all three chocolate bars with the purchase of any Creed perfume for a limited time.

Daily Provisions Now Serving Sunday Supper

If you’ve ever visited Daily Provisions then you know about their delicious breakfast options such as their Maple Cruller or hefty BEC. Now the neighborhood favorite is making a mean dinner too! My family visited their Upper West Side location to try the new menu out and believe me when I say we weren’t disappointed.

Both Daily Provisions locations will be serving family-style dinners every Sunday from 5pm-9pm. They have delicious rotisserie chickens, plus a plethora of sides to keep the whole group satisfied, including their Kale Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts (you must try!!), Mashed Potatoes, and Stuffed Artichoke. There's also some whites and reds for the parents and hot chocolate to keep the kids warm on a winter evening. & did I mention they also have epic desserts the entire family will be fighting over!

Dad Jeans and Neon Topps

Good Morning.
Happy Monday and Happy New Year!

This past weekend was so wonderful for my family.
Aside from missing an event Saturday morning because Moe and I overslept which never happens (we blame James for keeping us up the night before). We enjoyed oversleeping that morning! As a result, we were able to eat breakfast at home and take our time getting dressed. We had so much free time that after breakfast we visited Topps Bakery. I will admit we only come here for one thing and that's their Boston cream donuts.. their amazing and very addictive!!

We normally visit Chantilly Patisserie and Bakehouse but they're currently closed as they're on vacation (returning tomorrow 1/7).
