Yesterday I celebrated my daughter Hazel's 9th birthday. It wasn't her ideal celebration of a birthday party but I wanted it to be as special as possible. Jayleen (her older sister) baked her a funfetti explosion cake and we sang happy birthday to her. She wore her favorite party dress and posed for photos in our family room. We gave her a wrapped gift and watched her eyes light up as she opened the barbie dream house she had been wanting for months.

Ayer celebré el noveno cumpleaños de mi hija Hazel. No fue su celebración ideal de una fiesta de cumpleaños, pero quería que fuera lo más especial posible. Jayleen (su hermana mayor) le preparó un pastel de explosión de funfetti y le cantamos feliz cumpleaños. Ella se puso su vestido de fiesta favorito y posó para fotos en nuestra sala. Le dimos un regalo envuelto y vimos sus ojos brillar mientras abría la casa de ensueño de Barbie que había estado esperando durante meses.

These small sacrifices will be forever rewarded by the lives you'll be saving. "
