We're all entitled to a little R&R (Rest and relaxation). Especially when you're a workaholic who has two full time jobs (blogging + being a mom) and don't really want to travel far. I mean.. Maryland is only about 5 hours away from New York City (driving). My family and I are used to taking 17 hour flights to Bangladesh and 7 hour flights to London, so, 5 hours to paradise isn't too bad.

Todos tenemos derecho a un poco de descanso y relajación. Especialmente cuando eres un adicto al trabajo que tiene dos empleos de tiempo completo (blogera + ser mamá) y realmente no quieres viajar lejos. Quiero decir .. Maryland está a sólo 5 horas de distancia de la ciudad de Nueva York (por carro). Mi familia y yo estamos acostumbrados a tomar 17 horas de vuelo a Bangladesh y 7 horas de viaje a Londres, por lo que, 5 horas para llegar a un paraíso no está tan mal.

Before kids set off on another school year Ms. Frizzle drives into The Scholastic Store for a Back to School party that’ll make you shout WAHOO! The Frizz herself will host story time and then lead kids in a slime-making experiment that’s sure to be ooey gooey fun!

Feel like you are swimming with dolphins as we open the Scholastic Auditorium for a FREE screening of Dolphin Tale 2! Black On Black

I hope all of you guys had an amazing Labor Day Weekend! I know many of you have been waiting for my Hyatt recap & I'm so so sorry for taking this long to post it. There's a ton of photos and I'm trying to create a little video as well. But in the mean time... Hello September!! I visited Beacon NY for the first time during the weekend. It was such a nice little town I loved it. We arrived pretty late and most shops were closed (Sunday close early). We found a cute little restaurant which was the only place opened at 7pm, DogWood. We will be going back and I'll share more photos of the place.

Espero que todos ustedes tuvieron un fin de semana increíble! Sé que muchos de ustedes han estado esperando el resumen de Hyatt y lo siento por tomar tanto tiempo para publicarlo. Hay un montón de fotos y yo estoy tratando de crear un vídeo también (pero es mucho trabajo ahora mismo por la semana de la moda). Pero mientras tanto ... He visitado Beacon NY por primera vez durante el fin de semana. Llegamos bastante tarde y la mayoría de las tiendas estaban cerradas (Domingo cierran temprano). Encontramos un pequeño restaurante, que era el único lugar abierto a las 7 pm. Se llamaba DogWood. Vamos a volver pronto y voy a compartir más fotos del lugar con ustedes.

In Chicago With Delta Faucet

If you follow me on instagram you are aware of my most recent trip to Chicago. I was invited to be a part of a cooking class with Chicago-based pastry chef and winner of the James Beard Foundation Award, Gale Gand. This was the first time I ever visited Chicago and was super excited to be there. While there I also received a tour of the beautiful Delta Faucet showroom which features all their amazing products and I got to test them all! It's really fascinating all you can learn from just faucets (& I knew nothing about faucets before this trip).

Quick and Easy Labor Day Ideas

I just got back from my very short trip in Chicago and am happy to have brought back a few amazing recipes from chef Gale Gand to share with you all. Today I wanted to share a few fun and entertaining ideas to help you on your next celebration. After all Labor Day is only a few days away. 

Given the fact that my schedule has gone from 0-60 in the last few months, I have less time to prepare things or plan ahead so these recipes are perfect for busy individuals like myself. These ideas are easy, delicious and did I mention they're... EASY!! The first recipe is a delicious appetizer, Pea + Garlic dip served with thinly sliced London broil served on a crostini. This is the perfect little 'meal' for a girls night in while the kids are at grannies or to simply serve as a starter in your next family gathering.

Shopping in Sears

Happy Monday!

Shopping with Zareena as I mentioned before, is a blast! This is the 3rd time we go shopping together without Leanne and as much as we missed her, we just bond more and more when it's just the two of us. We bring out the silliness is each other and get to do what girls do, shop. She picked out so many cute looks including this pretty top (first photo). 

Zareena's favorite back to school item from Sears has to be her new backpack and a little crop top. Ok guys, don't get freaked out! Wearing a cropped top doesn't mean you have to show your stomach or any skin. She's wearing the top with high harem pants. This is a very appropriate look for a little girl while staying on trend. The looks she chose are very casual yet the pieces can be style differently for a less casual feel. Z is very much into expressing herself as she enter 1st grade in a few days. She uses t-shirts with great words and quotes. This is a nice way to keep your kiddos inspired. They had a great selection of these in Sears. Back to school is all about being comfortable and confident. & remember your smile is your best accessory!
