The Inside Scoop On How I Clean

IMG_5049

When I was growing up, being a mom looked so easy. Food was always on the table, floors were always cleaned, clothes were always washed and folded, tv had cable, etc. The good life, right?.. (for the kids). Yet, when you stop to think about the time one person spends doing these things, it's pretty remarkable.

It's nice to see the outcome of things and not see the challenges people face while trying to achieve the results. Alright, I'm beating around the bush here. What I'm saying is that it's not easy being a mom, period! Having to take care of kids, a husband, a home and yourself is definitely a challenge without a few dirty little secrets ;)

I pretend to have body aches so I don't have to clean- yes, this is true. Don't judge me. You should try it too! It always works if theres someone around to actually clean for you.

I learned this trick from my mother in law. My family tend to visit my husbands fathers house on the weekends. In a traditional Bengali home, the women of the house needs to prepare tea and appetizers for guests. If guests visit after 8pm then the women of the house needs to prepare actual dinner. Well... long story short- Every time we would visit around dinner time she would always have a 'painful' story to tell. Either her foot was hurting, she sprained her wrist, she has a headache, she was sleeping because she was dizzy or all of the above.

Although, in reality, this trick doesn't always work. There are detergents to help you clean all around the house with little to no effort. Such as, Fantastik Scrubbing Bubbles Heavy Duty All Purpose Cleaner. It's my secret weapon.

The first thing I look for when I'm buying a house cleaning product is scent. I can't tolerate overpowering smells and neither can my kids. That is one of the reason why I love Fantastik Scrubbing Bubbles Heavy Duty All Purpose Cleaner, other than the fact that it works instantly, cleans, disinfects, sanitizes, deodorizes all at the same time. It honestly doesn't get easier than spraying it on greasy and dirty surfaces then wiping them away while leaving a really light fresh scent behind.

This is the first and certainly not the last confession I'll be sharing on this blog. If you have a confession, share it via social media using the hashtag #ComeCleanNY. I can't wait to read it:)

This post is a collaboration with Fantastik. As always all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands and collaborations that make NYTrendyMoms possible.
