The Perfect Smoky Eye

Last week I gave you some tips and techniques on how to apply a bold lip and how to achieve flawless skin. I got incredible feedback and I am very thankful for that. Since the Holidays are approaching I want to continue giving you ideas for you to use during this Holiday season. Today I will guide you on how to get the most perfect smokey eye using Target's Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen Kit ($25). 

The Kit comes with 5 different pens and a sharpener which will help you achieve the right shade for your color eyes and skin complexion. Many of you might not know that a great smoky eye isn't just applying black liner on to the lid and waterline- but actually applying shades of browns and grays and blending them till the color is just right. I love keeping a mellow lip when I do a smoky eye. Nudes or light shades of pink work best.

Now this is a place which I can say I never seen before nor have tried anything like it. Momofuku Milk Bar located on 251 e 13 street is a tiny little dessert shop in the East Village. This is only one of five stores in NY (see more locations here). This Milk Bar serves unique sweets and coffees with the most out-of-the-box names like compost cookie and crack pie.

Welcome November

As we prepare ourselves for the holiday season we have an urge to dressing holiday'ish, or maybe it's just me. Either way, this tweed jacket mixed with this mustard sweater by Eileen Fisher screams out Thanksgiving. I love this combination of colors and believe it's great for any occasion. By keeping the bottom part of the outfit downy, it allows you to stay classy and really standout without trying. Remember, too much of anything can be a bad thing. & yes, I am wearing silver and gold. How do you feel about mixing these two?

A Night With A View

I discovered a new obsession, waistcoats! Despite me buying a couple through the years, I never payed too much attention as to how I feel when wearing .. and I feel really really good in them. Instant sophistication with a touch of coolness. I bought this one from Zara (i've added plenty more below). As time passes by I start appreciating and paying a little bit more attention to things and how they make me feel. I think this happens to all of us, correct?

Descubrí una nueva obsesión, chalecos! A pesar de comprarme un par a través de los años, nunca he prestado mucha atención en cuanto a cómo me siento cuando usarlos .. y me siento muy, muy bien en ellos. Sofisticación instantáneamente con un toque de frescura. A medida que pasa el tiempo empiezo a apreciar y prestar un poco más de atención a las cosas y la forma en que me hacen sentir. There are many perks in being involved with a different culture. Well, only if you're a foodie like me. If you merely knew the amount of time I spend eating bengali food, you would certainly think I'm nuts. Part of it is because I am hooked on cooking traditionally. In my mind I try to figure out the spices added in each dish to soon after recreate those dishes at home. Call me crazy but that's what a creative foodie does. Theres a bit of a thrill when trying a new Bengali dish. You know, almost that feeling when you sit on a roller coaster and are ready to take off, yea. that's the feeling. I don't want to say that Bengali food is my all time favorite type of food but, it's pretty close to it. Last weekend I met with uncle X who took my palates on a fun ride.
