Live Laugh Play

Get Ready As we prepare ourselves for back to school there are certain things we need to know when it comes to dressing our kids and ourselves for the new school year. I always say it is important to be comfy but when it comes to school it is must! When your comfortable you are more attentive and that's something extremely necessary for your kids education. When kids aren't comfortable they get aggravated and they really don't want to do anything. This is why it is crucial that your kids tell you what they like and what feels good on them. You want to allow kids to have fun, be comfortable while looking stylish. As I mentioned on this post here, It's all about colors this season.

I wanted to go with a delicate look on top and bright pop of color on the bottom. I also added a nice light pink belt to soften up the look even more. Then when you get to the bottom you get this bright pop of color that you certainly don't expect. I love this outfit! Something else that has been really trending for back-to-school is braids but I'll get into that on my next post.

Yo quería ir con un aspecto delicado en la parte superior y un color brillante en la parte de abajo. También agregué una bonita cinta color rosa para suavizar el traje aún más. Me encanta este conjunto! Otra cosa que ha sido realmente una tendencia para la escuela son las trenzas, pero voy a hablar mas de eso en mi próximo post.

Let's Call It Magic

Princess Violet Every single time I wear a dress from Desert Rose Couture, the princess effect happens. There's something about flowy dresses and gowns that automatically makes a girl feel good. Over the weekend I got the chance to wear this piece from Desert Rose Couture to a special dinner with my family. I literally hopped off the car and snapped a couple of shots before the sun went down. The pictures certainly don't do the dress justice.

One thing you guys might notice is how long the dress is. Well... I chose it that way. I like my gowns to be extra long so when I walk I can pick it up and my shoes can show. Is that weird? Click HERE to see what I mean.

El fin de semana tuve la oportunidad de usar este vestido de Desert Rose Couture a una cena especial con mi familia. Yo, literalmente, salte del coche y saqué un par de fotos antes de que el sol se ocultara. Las imágenes no le hacen justicia al vestido.

I wanted to go with the same color palette and light on the accessories to allow the dress to shine. This Amelie cuff by Eselvi Designs couldn't be more utterly perfect. I love how the stone on the cuff matches perfectly with the stones on the dress.

The Longer The Better! Right?

All about Lashes Roughly two weeks ago I decided to get eyelash extensions in a salon located in LIC. I was really surprised at how inexpensive it turned out to be. I payed $25 for top individual lashes that only took 15 minutes to apply. Last time I wore eyelash extensions was for my weeding 6 years ago and I payed $85 in a 'professional place' that took nearly 45 minutes. I knew I had to give them a try and share this very trendy experience with you.

Before you start, you get to choose the size you want. I chose extra long and very black ones. The lashes are applied in between the roots of your real lashes. The process was uncomfortable for me because you sit down on a chair looking up the whole time while they glue individual lashes onto your eyes. The glue they use is one that burns like crazy if it even touches the inside of your eyes (which happened quite frequent). Therefore I had to hold a fan blowing in my eye the entire time. After the torture was done I loved how they looked and felt; naturally full. Not heavy like most eyelashes feel, just right. That first night I could not sleep at all! It was so uncomfortable to sleep with them because I didn't want them to get messed up and I felt like if I moved too much they would come off or loose their shape. Everything got better after my first sleepless night. I felt more comfortable with them as they became part of me. Washing my face, showering and applying makeup was a breeze. Until the second week came along.

The second week came along and things started to get bad. The lashes started poking the inside of my eyes and they started loosing their shape. I started to remove them by pulling them off after my eyes started to get irritated. Not to my surprise I lost most of my real lashes. It's simple a price to pay for looking good for two weeks. Now I'm looking into Nutraluxe Lash md for eyelash growth. Have you heard of it?

*In order for the lashes to last this long you must take care of them. No hot water when showering, when washing your face make sure you pat it dry and always be aware that they are attached to your real lashes.

The main question is: Would I ever apply them again? Probably, just because I never learn my lesson. Yo tengo la cabeza como un coco!

Todo sobre las pestañas hace aproximadamente dos semanas me decidí a conseguir extensiones de pestañas en un salón. Yo estaba muy sorprendida de lo barato que resultó ser. Me sentía más cómoda con ellas, ya que se convirtieron en parte de mí. Lavarse la cara, ducharse y aplicar el maquillaje era bien facil. Hasta que la segunda semana llegó.

La segunda semana llegó y las cosas empezaron a ponerse mal. Las pestañas empezaron a meterse en el interior de mis ojos y comenzó a perder su forma. Me pullaban hasta que se me irritaron los ojos. Empecé a arrancar me las después de que mis ojos comenzaron a irritarse. No para mi sorpresa, he perdido la mayor parte de mi pestañas verdadera . Es simple un precio a pagar por lucir bien durante dos semanas. Ahora estoy investigando de algo que se llama Nutraluxe Lash md de crecimiento de las pestañas. ¿Han oído hablar de él?

If you are planing to go out after work it is always good to look a little different from your day look. So I decided to keep the same outfit and change the bag. The tan color of the bag gives the outfit a fun character and less business feel. You can also remove the blazer and roll up your sleeves for a fun and relaxed look. You don't have to change much when you are wearing a huge smile. Remember 'Your smile is your best accessory'.

With Back-to-School right around the corner I wanted to show you guys what is new in Target.
I'm sure you all know that Target is one of those places that you literally find anything and everything at an incredible price. Specially when we are talking school supplies and uniforms. As my oldest daughter enters kindergarden this September I am clueless about anything 'school'. Therefore I knew I had to attend this press preview event to find the latest trends for back-to-school and chat with expert mommies about back-to-school tips.

Cherokee is a brand that I have featured here before (check HERE). Quite frankly one of my favorite brands from Target for Kids. They have really cute and funky pieces that are appropriate for kids of any age. My children usually dress themselves and most of the times they reach for pieces from Cherokee, it's kid approved!

Peach + Emerald

Today I will show you how to style my top seller JOHNNYBELL Harem pants and give you a few general tips on how to wear out-of-the-ordinary pieces.

My one and only tip for wearing statement or unique pieces is CONFIDENCE. Confidence is everything. While growing up I always liked different things. Different fashion, music, food. These things were referred to as 'weird things' by people. I grew up dressing and living for others. Now as an adult and having 2 kids I allow them to be themselves by dressing themselves, experimenting with so called 'weird things', eating things like carrots and nutella because all those little things build up confidence. That's all that is needed in life. Confidence builds your career; builds your family; builds YOU. So please start living for you and not others.

Mango Lassi

For those who have never heard of Lassi; it is a yogurt-based drink that originated from India. The most popular and my favorite kind of Lassi is mango flavored. Today I'm going to show you how easy it is to make this delicious thick and very rich in flavor drink. I like to make this as dessert after a traditional Indian/Bengali dinner. This drink is refreshing and helps you cool down after any spicy meal. It's like adding a cherry on top of a chocolate fudge cake.

Things you will need

Ice

2 ripe mangos (cut into small pieces, discard the seed)

2 cups of whole milk yogurt

1/2 cup of whole milk

2 tablespoons of brown sugar or honey to taste

There is one simple step to this delicious recipe. Blend all the ingredients in a blender till very smooth (about 2 minutes) and enjoy.

Para aquellos que nunca han oído hablar de Lassi, es una bebida a base de yogur que se originó en la India. El tipo más popular y mi favorito es con sabor a mango. Hoy les voy a mostrar lo fácil que es hacer esta deliciosa bebida. Esta bebida es refrescante después de cualquier comida picante.

Lo que necesita

hielo

2 mangos maduros (cortado en trozos pequeños, deseche la semilla)

2 tazas de yogur de leche entera

1/2 taza de leche

2 cucharadas de azúcar o miel al gusto

Hay un paso simple a esta deliciosa receta. Mezcle todos los ingredientes en una licuadora hasta muy suave (unos 2 minutos) y disfrute.

Breezy

Happy Monday guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Today I am sporting a semi preppy look with a major gold chain necklace. As you all know we have to start preparing ourselves for back to school these days. I wanted to wear something that represented 'school' in a small portion of my outfit. Over the weekend I wore this statement piece twice and both times was stopped by many women in the streets asking where can they get this masterpiece. But once you start playing with colors and fabrics you realize it truly goes with everything. This is certainly the definition of a statement necklace. Feliz Lunes chicos! Espero que todos hayan tenido un buen fin de semana. Hoy estoy luciendo un estilo preppy con un gran collar de cadena de oro.
