Monday mornings are the perfect time to get inspired with workouts, healthy eating and new books to read. Last week I attended the unique celebration of Jo Piazza new book “Love Rehab: A Novel in 12 Steps”. As I mentioned on my Instgram, what better way to get in the best shape of my life than by working out with trainer Joey Gonzalez at Barry's Bootcamp to the best breakup songs of all time.
I won't tell you what the book is about because I would hate to be a spoiler, but, I will give you the blurb.
"Sophie isn't dealing with her breakup well. Dumped by her boyfriend, Eric, for his sexting, D-cupped, young floozy McSecretary, Sophie leaves Manhattan and lands back in her hometown, crushed and pajama-clad, blaming herself and begging her ex for a second chance.
But when her best friend, Anne, gets in trouble for driving drunk and is forced to go to an Alcohol Anonymous meeting, something clicks in Sophie's strung-out mind. Women need love rehab.
If you start it, they will come. When she opens up her home to the obsessed and lovelorn, Sophie finds a way to help women out there who have overdosed on the wrong men- and saves herself in the process."
As a married women, this is an exciting, very girly and gossipy novel. Different from what I'm used to reading but highly entertaining.
It was such a pleasure meeting and getting to share an evening with Jo Piazza who is the executive news director of In Touch Weekly and Life & Style Weekly.
I got the chance to work with Joey Gonzalez, a phenomenal trainer at Barry's Bootcamp. We were a group of 15-18 people and I felt like it was a one-on-one class. This Mr. Here is a badass trainer! I was complaining at how intense the workout was and didn't realize how good it felt the next day. I love working out, I do it daily, but this was on another level of workout [in a good way of course]. It was my first time here but not my last. I have never worked this hard nor sweat this much in my life, ok, I won't go into further details.
We all know that music makes you move. In this case it gets you in the mood to give it your all when working out, you know what I mean? The concept of the celebration of the book, the breakup songs and the workouts really made a fantastic combination.
Thank you Jo Pizza, Joey Gonzalez and Barry's Bootcamp for allowing me to be a part of this. Thumbs up to all the participants for doing an incredible job [believe me, it's not as easy as it looks].
