Color Blocking

Happy Saint Patrick's Day guys! (can you spot the green leaves on my jumpsuit?)

Today's look isn't necessarily inspired by green but perhaps something a little more fun, somewhat color blocking. We are all used to seeing this trend during Spring and Summer with solid colors but I wanted to give a little twist. As you can see I couldn't wait to wear this trend all over again. I think color blocking is always fun and very unexpected. Especially when it isn't a boring solid color.

Cooking With Zareena (Mac and Cheese)

Today I'm sharing a very easy and fun mac and cheese recipe that Zareena craved a few days ago. Cooking with my daughter is always fun but even more fun watching her do it on her own. Below are the steps to making this cheesy goodness. I hope you guys enjoy the video. 

Besame

Spring and Summer is all about shaping up and looking good. & by good I mean extra good! Earlier this week I shared with y'all great beauty secrets and useful tips using something we all have in our homes, baking soda (read more here). Having great skin and toning up before those warm months approach is very important to me, as it should be to you as well. Now, the 'How do you stay fit?' questions keep coming in on my emails and pictures on all my social media accounts. I'm thinking of doing a post about my daily workout routines. Is that something you guys might be interested in? I'd be happy to share.

Breakfast at Family Corner

In celebration of my eldest daughter's amazing report card we visited Family Corner located on 21-02 31st street, Astoria NY 11102. We enjoyed some of our favorite pancakes in the neighborhood. The girls ordered chocolate chip pancakes (3 pieces) and I ordered the sweet potato pancakes which are the best in Astoria and are served all day. We also ordered mozzarella sticks as starters and two fresh squeezed orange juices, a side of 2 sunny side up eggs which came with potatoes and toast. The bill come out to less than $33, which is pretty decent for any Astoria restaurant. The staff is so welcoming specially with the girls, they even changed what they were watching to the cartoon channel. I thought that was a nice touch:) The place is pretty small and on weekends is nearly impossible to get a seat without a wait so we were pretty stoked when we walked in and sat right away. Overall the girls were happy to enjoy pancakes outside the house and of course, Family time is always a good time. Happy Hump Day guys!

New Ways to Use Arm & Hammer Baking Soda

A few weeks ago I attended an Arm & Hammer baking soda event that was held at the DreamDry located on 35th west 21st street. At the event we got schooled on how to use baking soda in ways I honestly didn't know. I normally use baking soda in baked goods and at times for cleaning my home. I wanted to share this information with all my readers because I find it very useful and I know you will too. & as Spring approaches we all know we need to give our house and ourselves the yearly Spring clean. Below I will share many ways of using baking soda for a better and cleaner you:)

Bright Chills

This past weekend was as busy as every other one. With school break coming in only a few weeks, I've been running errands and planning for our next month's family vacation. I knew I wanted to wear something comfortable and decided to pull these bold Modern Vice summer jett boots out my closet, and boy I'm glad I did. The bright colors coming from the boots and this Oscar and Anna bag got me in the best of moods. Not sure if y'all noticed but after my new haircut I've been really feeling like myself and I'm love it. The fact that I can wear my hair long and short makes me very happy:) What are your thoughts on it?

Este fin de semana pasado estaba tan ocupada como cada otro dia. Con receso escolar que viene en sólo unas pocas semanas, he estado corriendo diligencias y planificando la vacacion con familia. Yo sabía que quería llevar algo cómodo y decidí ponerme estas modernas botas de Modern Vice. Los colores brillantes procedentes de las botas y de esta bolsa de Oscar y Anna me ponen en el mejor de los humores. No estoy segura si ustedes notaron, pero después de mi nuevo cabello me he estado sintiendo realmente como yo y estoy encantada. El hecho de que puedo usar mi cabello largo y corto me hace muy feliz :) Les gustan la recordada?

In The Moment

Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in posting this article. Yesterday I was having major issues with uploading the images on this post and today I finally fixed the problem. I also wanted to say thank you for all the lovely comments on the picture I posted of my new haircut yesterday on Instagram. The cut isn't short all the way for those wanting to know. I only cut the front short and the back is still long. You can say I cut my bangs. Can't wait to show you in upcoming posts.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman (CLOSED)

A few weeks ago my family and I had the chance of watching the very anticipated movie, Mr. Peabody and Sherman. The story of a genius dog who adopts a boy, yes a dog who adopts a boy! I had the honor of speaking/interviewing Ty Burrell who is the voice of Mr. Peabody, Max charles who is the voice of Sherman, and Rob Minkoff who directed this movie as well as The Lion King. In today's article I will share a brief part of our interviews. I will also be sharing a few images and a great giveaway for your chance to take your family to view this movie when it's released. The film will be in theaters March 7th, 2014.

March Madness, Pie Month!

We're closer to National Pi Day, March 14th. & what better way to celebrate than to show you all pies that rock my world. Savory pies, sweet pies and small single fruits pies that are perfect for kids.

Pies weren't very popular while growing up in a Dominican household. It's only been about 5 years since I had my first pie and since then I've been a fan. I've tasted and made a variety of pies but my favorite will always be apple crumb pie, YUM! I hope you all enjoy these great pie recipes.
