My New Year's Resolution

I'm a food and sweets fanatic! One of my New Year's resolution is to control my eating habits (just a little bit). Therefore, I'm cutting out sweets (for now). Well, not entirely. A couple of weeks ago I came across this hand crème from  Laura Mercier Crème Brûlée Collection. The seductive, warm and comforting blend of gourmande ingredients made me melt. Just imagine smelling like vanilla frosting? Yum right! The smell is so good that I have been tempted to taste it, too bad it is not edible. The scent takes me back to my days in Paris, walking the streets with my husband and eldest daughter while enjoying the street smells and conversations. After chatting and enjoying the infamous french coffee we would walk over to our favorite boulangerie (bakery) and enjoy the most decadent vanilla crème brûlée and other pâtisseries (pastries). Its is remarkable how just a simple scent can bring back so many good memories.

This crème is also packed with ingredients that are great for your skin. Including shea butter, grape seed oil to moisturize and hydrate, while honey and aloe vera helps to soothe. I haven't came across a hand crème like this one which provides so much nutrients and delivers the ultimate hydrating luxury. This collection also includes succulent notes of vanilla bean for a sensal and enchanting experience. With only applying a dime size on my palms twice a day, I feel a huge difference on my skin. Something I absolutely love about this crème is the fact that it absorbs very quick into my skin and leaves my hands feeling silky smooth and not greasy.

If your New Year's resolution includes cutting down on the caffeine, heres something to get your coffee fix without crashing. The Nyakio Kenyan Coffee collection, a perfectly-balanced face polish and body scrub that reveal fresh, more youthful-looking skin and provide antioxidant benefits. This polish contains Kenyan Coffee to naturally energize and exfoliate skin. Some ingredients include kola nut, which is high in caffeine and known for revitalizing the skin, mongongo nut oil which is moisture-rich and packed with Vitamin E, Trichilia oil which nourishes the skin and Ximenia oil from Zimbabwe to soothe the skin.

This product started all the way back in Africa. This blend of ingredients were passed on by Nyakio's (founder) grandmother who worked on a Kenyan coffee farm and spent the day outdoors under the sun. She would make her own face scrub by boiling down coffee beans with honey and use the grounds to exfoliate her skin with a sugarcane rod.

I scrub this Nyakio Kenyan Coffee face polish on my face in circular motion and gently exfoliate every morning in order to get glowing and radiant skin through the day. One thing I love is that it has the right amount of 'grit' to give your face a great scrub and polish without any harness. The scent isn't surprisingly bad, as I expected it to smell overpoweringly coffee-ish. It does not smell like coffee but more like deep forest with hints of lemongrass freshness. With simple directions this face polish is gentle enough to use on a daily basis, morning or night. I absolutely love this stuff!
