I Got The Blues

Yesterday we went to a southern barbecue restaurant in Queens. & OEMGEE! I had a brisket sandwich with mac & cheese and my husband ordered burned ends with fries. It's self explanatory what burned ends are but if you don't know, it's the burned part of a beef brisket.
It was the first time I ever tried beef burned ends and they were amazing! So I suggest, if you ever visit a barbecue restaurant, ask for burned ends.
I'm so glad I did the shoot before going to eat because I ended up with barbecue sauce even on my hair.
OK enough food chatting here are the shots. Enjoy:)

My vision was to wear this jumpsuit with a neon yellow necklace. Since I don't own one yet I decided to wear it with this bright red, I thought it turned out pretty good no?
This jumpsuit is unbelievably comfortable and the color is perfectly bold. I really like loose fitting clothes, specially for summer. I feel like I can't breath if I wear tight fitting clothes in warm weather.
I wanted to leave my hair loose but it was really hot. That lead me to pinning it towards the side and still leaving it loose.

Rebel In Pleather

If you follow me on Instagram you would know that these pictures were supposed to be uploaded on Tuesday, but all the pictures got deleted from my camera. Today I woke up early and decided to re-shoot this outfit post. I think they turned out better than before.

I've always complained about the weather in NY, but I'm starting to like the fact that I can wear something summery one day and a jacket or blazer the next. It gives me more versatility in my wardrobe.

This past weekend I stopped at H&M and came across these pleather brown pants which were a steal! I paid $5 for them, I don't know why they were so cheap, maybe because summer is approaching and they're trying to get rid of all the winter clothes. Anyhow, I had to buy them since I've always wanted a pair of leather pants and the price was unbelievable.

Shoes:Michael Kors   Clutch:Vintage

Notice anything different?
I dyed my tips yesterday. I was going for a hot pink instead I got a redish/purpleish color which isn't all that bad. I will wear this color out for about a week then try redoing it. Wish me luck:)

Do you like this color? or should I go for the hot pink that I wanted to begin with?

Easy Home Decor

In my current home there is no room to build a walk in pantry which i have always wanted. So after I received a new item for my kitchen I flipped of excitement. It is a 3 rack shelf given to me by my father in-law the day before mothers day. This item I have been wanting since forever I'll tell you the reason down below.

Random Fact: I am obsessed with the Food Network and Cooking Channel

On the Food Network there is a show called Chopped and it is one of my favorite shows on this channel besides Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives (I love Guy Fiery!)
On Chopped, they show the most amazing pantry a Chef can dream of. The idea and inspiration came from this specific open pantry.

I tried to utilize the very small space I have and created a mini walk-in pantry. There is still more ideas I will like to incorporate into it but for now this is all i have. I will post an updated version of my kitchen when I am done.

Privacy in my favorite place of the house was a must in this new arrangement. So I decided to use a divider that I bought from Amazon to make the kitchen a bit more exclusive. By closing the walkway this gave me more room for storing things behind the divider without exposer and clutter.
This also gives the dinning area more privacy to enjoy meals without having to feel like they are in the kitchen.

This was just a teeny change that made a huge difference in this space. I hope you all enjoyed this post. For more fun ideas and random pictures follow me on GifBoom and Instagram NYTrendyMoms

Hip hip hurray for more awesomeness!

Mini Bobs

This recipe was inspired by shish kabobs. I try to cut carbs as such as I can and when I can. So I made this healthier(not really) alternative to the very popular street food. I hope everyone tries out this recipe, it's o'so good!

Things you'll need for the mini bobs- 2 servings
  • 1 cup of diced red onions
  • 1/3 of a cup of diced spanish green peppers
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 lb of ground beef
Things you'll need for the salad
  • half of 1 tomato
  • half of 1 cucumber
  • 2 hands full of baby arugula
  • 2 tablespoons of your favorite salad dressing

Mix all the ingredients for the mini bobs with a fork and shape them into small balls

I prefer using a fork because the mimi bobs come out juicy and fluffy on the inside. If using your hands do not over work the meat, if so, it will turnout tough and dry. Just keep that in mind.

Fry the mini meaty goodness on medium high heat, in 1 inch of Olive oil. Turning once, 2 minutes on each side. Once done, place them on paper towels to remove excess oil.

I use Olive oil because it is the lightest and healthiest oil.

Chop the tomato and cucumber into small cubes.

Add your choice of dressing and toss.

TADA!
How easy was that?
I hope everyone enjoyed reading and viewing the pictures. Come back soon:)
